Under the direction of the acclaimed production duo Mark Argenti and Ian McDaniel, Media Evolutions provided the entire content, playback, and live video direction for the Tour. The production required everything from subtle colors to full-on video shooting and editing. For the video sequences Media Evolutions arranged, shot, and edited these full-on, “mini-movies”. Other artists involved on these shoots were Busta Rhymes and Will.I.Am of Black Eyed Peas.

With mesmerizing special effects, remarkable imagery, and heart-wrenching live performances for thousands of enthralled fans; The Breakthrough Experience Tour proved to be an overwhelming success – indeed Mary J’s most exciting tour to date.

Thirteen years into her career Mary J. Blige continues to break new ground, the Breakthrough debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 Album chart. First-week sales of 727,163 earned the album the honor of being the best opening week by a solo R & B female artist in history. The Breakthrough has currently sold more than two million copies.

The first single from The Breakthrough, “Be Without You,” broke records as well as it remained on the Billboard Hot R & B/Hip Hop Songs chart for 15 weeks. This established Mary J. Blige as having the longest running No. 1 song on this chart since it was reintroduced in 1965.  Mary J. Blige’s six previous platinum and multi-platinum hit albums include classics such as What’s The 411, No More Drama, My Life, Share My World, Mary and Love & Life.
